It's a surprisingly tabloid story for the Guardian. There doesn't seem to be any evidence presented to back up the claims that the Tour is in doubt, other than from journalists and pro cyclists.

Yes, that's what I thought, too--it seemed a pretty insubstantial story. Poor journalism. I mean, I consider it completely possible that the Tour might be stopped by something other than protesting farmers, but it seems like an article the Grauniad should have thought more about publishing. 'Come back when you have a story.'
