Indeed. Cleaning up the crime scene was particularly grim. Blood everywhere.

Latest: the crime scene investigator (my ten year old daughter) discovered a number of blood spots outside on the decking and paving in the garden. The working theory is that at least one of the victims was caught outside. The prime suspect was questioned at length but has maintained his right to remain silent under questioning.

I’ve planted six mouse traps around my kitchen floor tonight. Invasion has started after two encounters this week. My house is old and neighbour is having major building work done.
If invasion persists, i might invest in one of these...

Glue traps were my most successful way of catching. Then murder in the morning.
Block up as many holes as you can with wire wool, cover air bricks with mesh etc
Mice suck

Thanks @doubleodavey local diy store Jessops in east ham reckons since the lockdown has eased local take aways reopening had brought them back with a vengeance. I got loads of wire wool, I need to buy some mesh though for the airbricks. Glue traps on the shopping list.

Mice in the house, glue traps and end them outside? Snap traps are being ignored.

Unlikely they jump into a shoebox in your setup so probably yes.

What do they feed the mice in Sydenham Heights to get that size?

Cats.

Not mouses, but moths. What's the most effective treatment for getting rid?
-

Airgun

Moth bomb things.
But they are somewhat nasty and contain a chemical that in large enough quantities is lethal to cats.
Good for mice I guess

I used these and they were very effective

Accidental humane mousetrap - a month or so back, our DustBuster was rattling of it’s own accord. Turns out some crumbs inside had attracted a mouse, and there is a flap inside which prevented its escape. Released outdoors and not been seen since.

I’ve been setting traps for weeks but it looks like Otto the mini Schnauzers breeding came out and he got it for me.

A mouse (i'm guessing) has died somewhere in our wall cavity / under the floorboards. Smells awful, which is now attracting flies. Any suggestions? Wait till it stops seems like the only real option.

I had a deadmaus in my maus cupboard. Only discovered when flesh flies crawled out of the cupboard.
These flesh flies were weird - half of them didn't have wings, and it was possible to catch them in a glass and put them outside. They'd just fall and hit the ground with a bit of a thud.
Someone came yesterday to read the meter, I opened the maus cupboard to be greeted with maybe ten of the flies stuck to the glue traps. I said to the man 'who'd live like this?', the answer was obviously: I would.
Arggh - a massacre!
