Bridgestone 500 I picked up and slapped 32mm Gravelkings on. Anything can be a gravel bike if you put a big enough tire on it.

Ha. I actually said “any bike can be a gravel bike if you believe in yourself” on a FB group after someone asked what the difference was between a gravel bike and a touring bike was.
FYI: Apparently a gravel bike is carbon or aluminium.

What's the current hardpack/gravel widest 700c tyre of choice to fit a tripster AT these days. Supposedly they'll take a 44 but not sure whether that actually works.

I had some 700c Riddler 45c ones on my Tripster AT, bags of clearance front and rear

Looking for advice as it's new bike time for me. I'm replacing my road bike, which I ride a lot, and my gravel bike, which I ride a bit. Based on that, I think I'm after a road bike that can take wider tyres once in a while. I have a mountain bike for anything rougher than the sort of #nogravel pictured above.
At the moment I'm thinking of a Standert Pfadfinder. The road geometry with the option of having some 650b wheels to throw on is particularly attractive. What else is there in this category that I should consider? Framesets plz (got most components on the other bikes), with the Standert about the most I would want to spend? Open to materials other than steel.
I can now see Amey's ego all the way from Norwich
