Re. seatpost slipping (aside from obvious answer that you might not have tightened it up enough) I’ve had problems in the past with seatpost clamps on thin walled steel frames where the “lip” of the clamp that stops it slipping down the seat tube is too thick compared to the diameter of the tubing and prevents it from clamping the seat tube.
For instance I found a brand-x one would always slip but tester approved BBB bsp-85 hasn’t budged.

After some advice please genesis people! Questions will make me sound like an idiot but hopefully someone will have some ideas and saves me making a fool out of my self on the answer question answered thread.
I am £700 ish into this bike from a recent service and purchasing it off of ebay. It is/will be used for a short 5-7 mile each way all year round commute and any road riding. Love the bike.
