Shadow Lightweight breathes much better than any proper waterproof fabric. It's a very tight weave, but it is still a woven fabric so is going to breath better than any waterproof fabric which uses a membrane barrier.

I'd rather the LW Shadow PTJ in a light shower than a Shake Dry. But then again I'm also not into that binbag BDSM look and will probably avoid riding in absolute shit weather. Unless I'm commuting, at which point I don't worry too much about how Pro my clothing is.
That being said it's not replacement for the proper rain jackets.
