I'm quite tempted by the lightweight shadow PTJ. Any one here used it?

Of course! It's a rather niche item in my view. There aren't that many times it's useful to have as it's not a proper waterproof, it's not warm, and if it's sized properly it doesn't really have space to allow for layering. However, on days where it's damp and drizzly but not too cold, it's a useful thing to have.

I'm wondering if is useful for summer audax involving night rides where temps drop a bit, esp given how packable it seems?

I'd rather have a Brevet Insulated Jacket in those circumstances. The Lightweight Shadow jacket will keep the windchill off, but its thermal properties are decidedly limited.
