That small hole is your wear indicator
Thanks, I always wondered what they were!
-
• #7503
Good to know, thanks

Sort of for a while, the project is kind of on hold but if you want rid of them I'll probably take them.
-

They were a bit of a pain mounting (with tubes) on Kinlin XR22s, but they went on in the end.
Don’t have that much experience with tubes on tubeless rims, but commentary seems to be that it’s a pain regardless of tyre choice.
Tyres seem to work for me, can’t say I notice much difference between the Veloflex Masters I rolled on previously.

I really rate the Rubino Pro G+, they can usually be found for fairly cheap too. You can go for the Control version too for extra puncture protection at the expense of rolling resistance. But to be fair there's some good alternatives, Michelin Pro4 Endurance or Power Endurance, Conti 4 Season, Hutchinson Fusion 5 All Season, people seem to like the Schwalbe Marathon Supreme.

• #7507
Yeah I'm using tubes with tubeless ready rims and always found most tyres pretty hard to get on.
-
• #7508
Went fine on my Kinlins. No better performance than the original G+ 1.0(?)
-
• #7509
I found them relatively easy to get them onto an Easton R90SL with tubes. They are 28c though. I can see why a 25c could be difficult to mount on the same rim.

I have a set of tyres I'm swapping from one bike to another and the rear is worn more than the front...
I assume I want to keep that tyre on the rear of the new bike (i.e. because I should be privileging grip on the front tyre where the consequences of a slide out are more severe)?
-

And more prone to a puncture, which is also potentially more troublesome on the front.
-

Black, relatively fast rolling, relatively puncture resistant tyres which you can actually buy in 23mm? Rubino G2.0? P-Zero 4s?

I've been well impressed with a set of these I have on a bike, noticeably faster rolling than the Michelin Endurance version, and I found them to last a lot longer than Vittoria Corsa's G+ and Pirelli P-zero's that I have on other bikes.

EDIT: They are actually nearly £10 cheaper each at Wiggle:

I've been using some schwalbe ones that I had in the parts bin for a while, really good, cost peanuts.

Anyone used Hutchinson Touareg Gravel Clincher Tyre?
https://www.sigmasports.com/item/Hutchinson/Touareg-Gravel-Clincher-Tyre/Q1IM
If the 50mm GravelKing is too much for the front fork of the Kinesis I could stick one of these in front.
-
• #7517
Amazing deal, just in time to bin my gravel kings.
-
• #7518
Read some reviews and well regarded, £29 on wiggle Platinum
-
• #7519
Will these kill me if I run them on 15mm internal width Campagnolo Neutron rims? Internet seems uncertain
-
• #7520
No, it’s fine.
-
• #7521
They're probably next on the list if the 50mm GKs don't work.
-
• #7522
650b in a CDF frame: I'm after something knobbly and it sounds like i'll not be able to fit larger than 47mm in there. WTB sendero looks a likely option - anything else i should be looking at?

• #7523
I'm thinking about which tyres I want for winter road riding and commuting. 700x32c, priorities are grippiness and puncture resistance, low rolling resistance is a bonus. Slick Gravelkings?
-
• #7524
GP5000s?
-
• #7525
Maybe their "Plus" version has improved, but I wouldn't go near the normal slick GKs if you fancy puncture protection
I've got them, they went on fine.
