  • Hollowgram si cranks on a non cannondale frame - yay or nay?

I have a new frame coming, Specialized with osbb. I was going to sell my bb30 hollowgrams and potentially go with something else.

But I've realised I can have the arms re-anodised into a colour that might suit the frame and avoid having to buy new cranks.

I have two of the spacer kits so getting the cranks installed and spaced correctly shouldnt be too hard. Would I be best installing the cranks as if its a cannondale frame as per the instructions here https://www.cannondale.com/-/media/files/manual-uploads/manuals/SISL2_Road_Crankset_Instr_1012.pdf

Anyone done this? Any issues to look out for? new frame is an sl6 tarmac

edit - can anyone recommend a place in uk that could do custom lazer etching to have the logos put back?

Be careful as the process to remove the current anodising may affect the bonding of the crank arms. Few threads about this on WW etc.

  • IS OSBB 68mm wide? If so install them in the same way they'd go in to a CAAD10, which is basically a large 5mm hat looking spacer on the NDS assuming you have the 109mm axle.

  • Kapz do custom laser etched headset caps, could be worth asking them.
