No, that's a bad sign.
I had a lot of trouble finding shoes which fitted decently to my wide feet. Luckily my LBS offered to let me return shoes if I only tried them on the house.
After a couple of goes I found that the wide fit version of Northwaves work well for me. They are expensive though, especially if you go for the speedplay version.
The usual advise applies, to wear football socks when you try them on in the shop.
I ordered some Sidi Eagles that turned up today. They felt alright trying them out in the house but I felt like my feet were spilling over the edge of the hard sole. That's probably not good is it?
