Spacers and toestrap/elastic band/velcro the levers pulled, will be fine.

No of course. I was just thinking that it was likely caused by something else other than flying 🤷♂️
I think cabin and luggage hold are both pressurised so not sure the changes in pressure would really affect hydro brakes.I wonder what sort of psi ramps up inside a brake when you squeeze the levers while going fast? I think cabin pressure is about 12 psi...
But maybe best to stop talking about disc brakes here. -

Oof, looks nasty.
Anecdata though, right?

@fussballclub yeah - the stock tyres were fine getting on and off, but anything else was pretty bad (I had two side of the road incidents fixing punctures which took me hours, never had anything like that before) so I ended up buying some new wheels. Great bike though.

the one time i went OTB was when i'd recently got a bike back from @Belagerent who'd fitted some shimano hydros in place of some cable discs (lovely vitus dee RIP), coming out of work I was trying to zip up my pocket when an unassuming pedestrian popped out, not thinking i grabbed the brake and was shocked at the immediacy in which i came to a halt
so much so i ended up on my back with said pedestrian asking if i was ok, physically yes, ego wise? no.

Thank you.

Looks a bit better with black tyres, but there's not a lot of clearance...
@oheyitsdrew they arrived.

anyone tried these tubeless? Thoughts?
-
• #12312
I do seem to be building quite a tyre collection but not me, not yet.

I didn't try tubeless, but I had a set of the teal/tanwall Homages, and they were probably the worst tires I've ever owned. Slick part was too slick to do anything off-road, side-knobbies were too big and made cornering on pavement terrifying, and I got more flats on them than I think any other set of tires I've ever owned.
Love Sim Works stuff generally but those tires are bad ime.

Bit jealous of the Ti gravler we sorted for my workmate, I say we, she did all the work after my boss sorted the frame. Will be anodised/painted at some point too.

Lovely! what frame is it? Also why the crossed gear cables under the downtube? EU setup?

A friend set the 650x42b tubeless with some kinlin rims, the rear is fine but the front keeps losing air massively and needs to be topped with fluid constantly.
I don't think they formally rated for tubeless though.

Give them a miss then. Thanks all

With UK set up we usually do gear cable from right shifter into right side of headtube but it can create a smoother curve if you go past the head tube and into the downtube on the left side, if so then you need to cross the gear cables. It's usually done on smaller frames but a smoother curve is always helpful.

What font is that on the rear wheel graphic?
-
• #12321
Which Kinlins? Pretty sure the XR31s are tubeless compatible. I hope so as my plan was to TL them.

Pretty sure the XR31s are tubeless compatible.
They are.

Yeah I looked and Cycle Clinic says so. I've never used them tubeless but I will be setting one up soon with those 50mm GravelKings.
The front rim is a DT Swiss 511db which should be TL but again, not 100%

What is the pump arrangement?

It’s the tyres (that aren’t tubeless compatible).

Did use spacers. Was still spongy after. Just my experience, as another data point. Of course if you choose to discount that then yes, they're faultless and it isn't a problem.
¯_(ツ)_/¯
