I do, 5Nm and 6.8Nm, I guess you don't?

It's their design and choice of material, both flawed...

There’s your problem, it’s specced for 8Nm so perhaps you had a slipping seat post and then overtightened it without a torque wrench?

I’m aware the design isn’t optimal but in my experience it functions perfectly fine when tightened to spec and it looks nice matching my headset.
