Will there be T-Shirts?

• #12278
This is of course part of the plan - I was looking at one of the ones with the sliding dropout things (this is the inbred 26er):
I thought there was one that was like that which was a 29er, but can't find it now.

T-shirts made out of gravel

• #12281
Exactly. Will you be doing "Just bolt that sucker fork right on" ones?
Also can you please post me a tshirt? I've been meaning to collect one from you for about 3 years now

The 29er inbred already has a comically steep head angle with a suspension corrected fork!
What is the a-c of the merlin fork? It doesn't seem to say on the website.

Funny that you'd be drawn to those drop outs. Can't see why.

I've have an ultegra lh shifter leak. a few people online seemed to have similar problems. This is with about 40k km of riding so I can't complain

Yes I am so sorry I didn’t get it to you! DM me your address
I am thinking for this slogan “just bolt that forker right on there”
Or
“There’s no gravel in Britain, poser” in the most disdainful font* I can find.(*typeface to you, hipster pedant 🥂)

I have HY/RDs on one bike and JuinTech R1s on another (R1s are older). I have loved the HY/RDs, for me they are more powerful (both used with sram levers). There is an issue with the lever pull when set up as per the manual though, and I end up winding the barrel adjuster out really quite a lot to get them to feel right. Seems strange but it’s all balanced and they’ve been working great since fitting 4000km ago.
The R1s were pretty great, easy to adjust etc etc. However after c.25000km mine definitely need the pistons cleaning up as they are kind of wiggling our rather than moving neatly perpendicular to the frame. New seals will be needed after splitting the caliper but these are not available as far as I can work out. No response from the distributor. This is why I bought the TRPs instead of another set.

Also has the peace of mind value of being tester approved!

At one point everyone on here was all in for hy/rd, or have I misremembered?
When it's first came out, it was the only option for hydraulic with cable pull, and it does work, not all of them does (I've experience some are spot on, and some feel very sloppy).
It was a case of a product that's kinda ok, but the only one exist at the time, hence why everyone go crazy for them (myself includes).

Drop bar Hydro vs cable debate is ridiculous- if you live anywhere with hills hydro blow cable out the water. Not just outright power but modulation, reliability and no need to adjust constantly. No comparison...

You must be new here; this happens with a lot of things on this forum, for months the usual suspects spam every thread going about the latest and greatest product they've bought, fresh off the boat from wherever, the best you can get, yes it's worth paying extra.
About 6 months later you discover they've quietly sold on that stuff because it didn't quite live up to the original Scoble hype.

Glad to see the title of the thread has changed; this truly is a thread that reflects our troubled times.

To add a bit more nuance here: Hydro probably isn't the best choice for travel bikes. I had problems with Apex1 needing a bleed after air travel, probably due to pressure changes. Probably even more faff for breakaway or SS coupling style frames, where you cannot break the hydraulic line easily.

Connectamajig?

sram brakes are shit.
Hydro splitters exist, just pricey

brake pad spacer inbetween the pads before the flight.
Have flown with mountain bikes and never had an issue with the brakes due to flying.
Plenty folk taking bikes on flights multiple times a year so I dont think it causes problems.
stay focused - I'm trying to build a death trap.
