  • Has anyone got any experience of the Eureka Mignon

I have a Baratza and a Eureka mignon and they are not comparable; the mignon is way better. I don't know what the Filtro model it, I've got the the one with the dose timer.

Otoh, if you are not doing espresso then a Baratza will be fine. I use mine for French press every day.

  • Thanks. The Filtro is their brew specific model. It's for pour over and aeropress. Currently using a Porlex hand grinder which I'm happy with but grinding multiple cups-worth in a morning to take to work is too much of a chore.

Is the Mignon significantly quieter than the Baratza?

  • Seattle Coffee Gear (and others) do noise comparisons on YouTube. Pretty sure both of the mentioned machines are tested.

  • Eureka Mignon is great, feels very much a miniaturised commercial grinder, heavy and solid. Definitely buy that instead of the Baratza if you’re happy spending that much.

  • If you're looking for a quiet grind, I'd thoroughly recommend the Rocket Faustino. I managed to pick up in a sale for £50 more than the Mignon and it's a lovely, well built, machine

  • Is the Mignon significantly quieter than the Baratza?

The Mignon seems slightly quieter but they are both pretty noisy (as grinders tend to be), so I wouldn't suggest noise level would be a reason for buying it.
