Looking at monitor + soundbar at the moment. I thought the remote on an Apple TV would sort out the volume? Or the soundbar will have a remote?

I was not. Did not see any mention of soundbar and I like to have a few inputs for other stuff like a Chromecast or video game.
Also TVs are usually cheaper than big monitors.
