I’m going to try a cm from both the seat tube and top tube, but I’m not quite sure. I am sure @Harry.Major has ideas about this but they’re likely to be considered trade secrets.

From the photo, the bag looks like it first perfectly though!? And it looks damned smart!

You defo shouldn't need to undersize your template. How does your bag compare to your template? Is it spot or a little bigger?
