He coped with nearly being pushed off the road in his ‘old self’ way, that is elbowed his way off the kerb. The second incident seemed to affect him more and perhaps his lack of confidence as well as recovery from him illness meant he didn’t battle as would have done in the past.
He has had one of the greatest careers in cycling history yet alone in British cycling history, it would be sad to see him retire but we’ve seen one of the best sprinters ever over the past 12 years or so.
Cav did not really contend the sprint in today’s tour of walonie. Here have been a number of ‘unlucky’ incidents for him since racing recommenced which I suspect will bring to an end a brilliant and successful career. It’s difficult to see him in the tour this or any future year.
