  • That wheelset is ace mate. Got my first (proper) Phil hub and the quality is off the scale. It’ll still be going many rims later. Good choice and enjoy. T

  • I sent off my Eriksen seat post to Brad Bingham just over a week ago and got it back today much to my surprise.

They reknurled it to give it fresh serrations as it was slipping at the clamp and they also bead blasted it without me asking. All for the grand sum of $27. Really impressive customer service. It looks brand new. Super stoked!

I rode the bike up Mt Baldy today and it was as great as ever. New wheels are splendid. Still not happy with the shape of my current handlebars... need to find some that I like and will take an updated photo when it’s all complete.

  • Turns out a mystical bar exists that I didn't know about. I've always thought the Fizik Snake bars were too long and deep, but as they get narrower, they also get shorter and less deep. So, the 38mm Fizik Cyrano R3 is actually a traditional shape but with 75mm reach and 125mm drop. Cheaper than the Ritchey NeoClassic and also in stock. Cheaper to order from Merlin with 1-2 shipping than it was to order in the U.S. with 7-14 day shipping......

Updates to follow. Bar shape here:

  • Neo classics forever

  • Finished. Very, very happy. Fit is now exactly as I want it with these bars. Enjoying these wheels a lot too. Looking forward to trying them with some tubeless Veloflex’s.

  • Looks nice, rear QR should face forward, have you learned nothing from prolly?

  • Niceeee

  • And front should align with the fork blades

  • I like the QR like this.

  • 👍🏼 Oh, rules 👍🏼

  • I’m still on the lookout for some Campag bits to try out - I’d really like chorus 12, but that’s stupid as I’d need new wheels and stuff - and it’s expensive AF. If I can find some 11sp chorus at a decent price, I’ll pick it up as I won’t have to change my cassette, chain or wheels. I like the idea of being able to dump gears seeing as most of the riding I do now has a fair bit of up and down. I also just haven’t got on that well with this generation of mechanical Shimano hood.

I really do love this bike though, it’s mad comfortable and I really gave it the beans today on a long descent and to me, that’s where it shines. I’ve always struggled with riding in the drops on most bikes I’ve had, but here I feel very at home doing so. I don’t really think about the bike, or my contact points, and that’s pretty much what I was aiming for - something that just disappears underneath me.

  • Stunner

  • Fantastic- really gorgeous.

11 speed campag and Shimano cassettes have the same spacing (or so close it makes no difference) so you should just be able to run those wheels on either of you go that way

  • Yeah exactly. Hence why I’m on the lookout for 11. Kinda painful that it’s basically the same price as 12 though give or take 10%. But will likely buy used.

  • Campagnolo is dumb.

  • Actual fact.

  • Stunning bike, but black wall tyres would finish it off a treat (imho).

  • Yeah, these are tubed Corsa’s. I’m gonna throw my tubeless Pro One’s on this weekend to see: what it looks like, how it rides with 25s and how the wheels feel when tubeless. I think the gumwalls look great, but I think black could look equally as decent.

  • As for lever feel/comfort, I think the 10spd SRAM Rival I had about 6 years ago was my favourite, keep looking at campag, but just can't take the leap.

  • Campag have the best hood shape by far. It's a labour of love though, Shimano definitely 'just works' better.

  • Campag hoods are the most comfy by far but it's definitely worth testing out a bike with them to see if you can use the thumb levers comfortably before dropping any cash

  • I’ve always struggled with riding in the drops on most bikes I’ve had, but here I feel very at home doing so.

Maybe because of the massive stack?

  • @amey imagine getting a bike that actually fits rather than touting for likes on the gram.
