  • Are those original Countach wheels, (all fronts) or do we think they are replicas made for the kit car industry?

  • Can someone remind me of the name of the hotel in/near Troyes that was recommended?

I booked, but I’m buggered if I can find the booking in my email and I can’t remember the name of it.

  • Found it, Le Val de Moret

  • So far:

  • Sky roof looks...shit. Thanks Thule.

  • If I want to add a 25mm ID inlet to this intake pipe, should I get it welded in or would a threaded one do? It's for a turbo recirc.

  • Two and half centimeters is a bit large, IMO, because of the curve to be threaded.

Weld or braze it your self with one of those sticks.

  • Did you go for the R36? I've had an urge to get one of these recently too... Wagon. I've got an R32 and love it, but would like something similar with a bit more space.

Spotted this one on Autotrader imported from Japan. Does anyone know how this works? They register it etc and you drive it away? How much of a bad idea would this be?

  • The one downside you'll find is that insurance will sting you for a 'grey' import, just because they can.

  • Stop number one:

  • Is fuel cheaper in the UK now?

  • Spicy number of euros per litre :(

  • That backs up my thoughts, thanks.

  • fuck me, that's expensive. We were paying 1.35 ish a couple of weeks ago.
It pays to get off the autoroute and find a supermarket.

  • Aston Martin in supermarket shocker ;)

    1.15 for E10/bog standard unleaded.

  • And at the hotel.

  • You don't see many of these nowadays. A 1984 3.0 litre Opel Monza GSE. Always loved the look of these from the rear. Black pentagram wheels is pretty 80's metal too.

  • Aren’t most Japanese imports usually sporting fairly low miles .
Not that the car doesn’t look good value .

  • If anyone would like to buy my Aston Martin by the way, I'm going to sell it next month to pay for my French house. The price will be £45k or thereabouts, and it's worth it.

  • Unsurprisingly when I looked at the finances in the cold light of day it all seemed somewhat less attractive. I used to have a MkIV R32 about 14 years ago and I still miss it, definitely the best car I have ever owned.

  • I’m still thinking about vans. Why would one purchase a T6 over a T5?

  • I’m looking at a new van tomorrow. It has a dirty great V8 and promises to make a splendid expedition vehicle.

  • Spotted this in local Asian supermarket this morning... could be ideal?

  • ULEZ compliance maybe?

  • ULEZ compliance maybe?

Pretty sure both will comply, but iirc there are EURO-6 engines available in the Mk6.

But basically it's the standard reasons you'd expect for buying a new model with few changes.

@Dammit - if what you're asking is whether the Mk6 was a big leap forward, my understanding is no. It's a light refresh.
