  • Too many riders in other teams on excellent form, Ineos train couldn’t dislodge any, all the major players were still there, and Bernal wasn’t the strongest rider amongst the batch.

    Bit different when Froome was at the end of the train and he would ramp up his cadence and ride away from everyone. Like Roglic.

    I thought the original plan looked like to send Sivakov on an attack, while Froome and Thomas would continue the train, but neither had the legs.
    Sivakov then had to pull on the front, so Bernal was left on his own with 20 others, many with a better kick than him.

    Ineos fail.

  • Yeah - interesting to see the fine margins. If your train doesn't quite put enough hurt on, then essentially you're just setting up the 'group of favourites' while burning through your team.

    Roglic's attack was amazing - just to pedal away from the front like that.
