  • That's what I meant to say.

  • Loving the BDAD thread on TC

  • Ta. This hunt for a Desert Gator body shell is getting boring now, may just resign myself to the fact that there's no more to be had. Found 2 in 24hrs, neither of which are available due to miscalculation of stock. I'm sure it'll be like looking for the car keys, stop looking, go have a brew, and there they are, right in front of you (or not).

  • yeah, no idea why its so hard to find, it's obvs out of production but there must be a few around somewhere.

  • No Durga or Baldre bodies at the mo either :/

Fitting some blue bits to mine.

  • Anyone in the market for a DB01 chassis?

  • Does it have ball diffs?

  • Erm no

    I mean yes

    But gear diffs are available

Just put it all back together

  • I take it you have multiple Durgas? One you've added blue bits to, and this one (for spares?).

  • Yeah I had the original basic DB01 then one came up with the all the alu suspension bits and shocks so I took what I needed from that, then rebuilt it with the stock parts.

  • Here mine. Guess it’s roughly rr spec now.

  • Does that still use the pins for wheel attachment, or is it 12mm hex?
Have ordered some rear wheels, same style as DN01/TRF, but 12mm hex, think they may be off the RRR version.
Jesus, Tamiya really know how to name their models!

  • Does that still use the pins for wheel attachment, or is it 12mm hex?

Pins, but the hex conversion is basically a hex that attaches to...the pins. It's not even captive like the Egress version.

  • Any guesses what this might have been? Terrible picture, but it was taken covert in the back of someone’s car next to us in a carpark.

It was big, maybe 500-600mm long. Aluminium ladder chassis, aluminium/wood/chequerplate pickup bed, skinny knobblies, lots of metal gears. Because of the size of it, I couldn’t tell if the motor was a 540 or the bigger 6xx (?) size. Couldn’t see any body shell in there to ID it.

  • Yeah, looks like some sort of home brew truck/crawler

  • Yeah I wondered if it might have been a crawler. It sort of looked half homebrew, but then a lot of the early kits looked a bit like that!

  • Porsche gets some stickers. Christ it consumes time.

  • Porsche is coming along nicely. Pleasing amount of blue in that chassis.

  • Kinda wishing I’d bought the blue turnbuckle tool too after going through that. Despite hardened they are easily scratched by my hamfistedness
