I've inserted a straight pull spoke, used digital calipers to measure from the inside of the flange to the outer edge of the spoke, and then done a bit of maffs to work out where the centreline of the spoke hole is compared to the centre of the axle. It matched up exactly with what the manufacturer said it was, but I don't like relying on manufacturer's dimensions if I can measure them myself.
That's an idea - the hubs are DT clones I picked up cheap, I might try a few goes at measuring manually then find the DT specs & see how close a replica they actually are
