Slightly off topic does anyone know how to get into proof reading?

I seem to spot lots of spelling errors in book. Not that this unique skill over qualifies but must be a good start

The CIEP ( https://www.ciep.uk/ ) is probably the best place to start. AIUI it's almost all freelance these days, so as with any other freelance career you have to be able to market yourself as well as do the job.
