Might just be a thing at my work but "I'm conscious of time" used by a meeting chair to mean, "Look, we're already overrunning, please shut up" is definite thing.
I think that's a pretty standard prompt to get a move on.
One of those things that may have originally seemed a bit politer but now it's in general use could just be replaced by "get on with it".
