Just cut the pockets out of your regular shorts *eddiemurphy.jpg

I think I have the older version of these (no palm padding)
I've worn them all summer for multiple summers for commuting and they've never given me trouble, I actually hadn't considered that they might wear out until you mentioned it...

I thought all the cool kids didn’t wear gloves anymore.
I wear unstylish endura gloves that have lasted years

same, I cant remember when I bought my last pair but they are wearing out to the point that im getting sore hands so this chat is timely and I should look at replacing them. I like the look of some of the Hestras.
https://en-ie.hestragloves.com/products/39510-000-bike-guard-short-whitealthough, white gloves? look great until actually used. Never heard of them before, never really researched gloves beyond looking in the LBS/evans, my level of riding never needed it also why my gloves have lasted.

what's universal colours? this just sigma's in-house maap/bbuc/PNS homage brand?
https://www.sigmasports.com/brand/universal-colours -
• #5007
Yes, it's their own brand - https://www.sigmasports.com/hub/news/introducing-universal-colours. Was talking to Sigma person wearing it at weekend.

I like the look of it, nice and simple which is what a lot of people want these days, there’s a lot out there that’s worse for more cash... mot seen it in the flesh though

Anyone know who designed it? Must’ve been an agency, surely. Impressive for an online retailer in-house brand.

BBUC without the BB

Hestra are reputable. Alpine Trek stock them. I’ve just ordered a pair so can report back if required.

My source did not reveal this.

Nice colours and cut but not loving the logo/placement, it looks like some university, slapped-on branding. Which I'm sure is probably very cool at the moment.

it looks like some university
It's funny you say that as the other person we were with said they initially read it as 'University College'.

My boy Adrian Frutiger 🤙🏻

Lol. I spent many a year with Univers. lovely stuff

Pretty sure it's Helvetica, not Univers. Which is shame. Check the tails on the 'a' and 'u', they are vertical. Also the x-height.
Edit: Did I imagine Helvetica tails on the 'a' and 'u'were vertical? I don't know now. Need a bigger sample...

Yeah, it's definitely got that vibe. If they just canned the white and did it in dark grey/silver/beige/whatever it would considerably reduce the jarring look. Rib placement can take a seat for now as well.

So made by these guys then: http://www.l-t-p.com/

Actually is it Futura?
-
• #5022
Oh ok. Makes sense.
The heavy o isn’t round like Futura.
-
• #5023
It’s all very trendy but I think good. I prefer the layout of everything over the PNS stuff, which does look a bit further education to me.

It’s interesting being out of cycling for a few years, now coming back and seeing that everything just looks like Rapha now. ‘Clean’ etc etc, with a little typography and tasteful choice colours. Rapha have really lost their selling point. There is a lot less terrible looking stuff about than 5 years ago.
There’s room for a resurgence in some stuff with character or flare I think.

Sigma's own branding uses Futura, or a derivative, though.
I think I've got a hernia from lifting my Adrian Frutiger - Typefaces. The complete Works from the top shelf, to peer at Univers design sketches.
Hestra make good shit.
