Nice, maybe I'll go a bit wider when I finally get round to swapping out my XR31t with the giant dent in it.

Could someone be so kind and tell me if this is a good option for home use? Building and truing wheels. Could it work for thru axles?

Alrighty - anyone have an idiot-proof method of measuring straight-pull hubs?
This image I came across shows measuring to the mid-point of the flange in between the spoke holes which seems straightforward enough when doing the lock-nut to flange measurements, but how do you accurately measure the flange diameter accurately as the spoke seats are recessed?
Cheers!

Check out this book... the Bicycle Wheel by Jobst Brandt... he used to be a Ferrari designer and got into cycling and wrote a fantastic illustrated book on wheel building... such a humble guy too he left few pages blank at the back for your own notes

Might make the building process easier if I was - suppose that's why the bastard things were invented eh! Why did I ever imagine this would be a straightforward task?
@mattmccullagh that sounds familiar - will have a look for that & see if it makes any sense, if not I might need a re-think before I start buying spokes at random

Looks quite similar to the one I built for half that money, at that price I would want it to have a second DTI. His clamping mechanism does look better, not sure if it actually works better in practice though.

DCR Flirt can be had for £60/rim. Still not cheap but not crazy £££.

I think @cycleclinic is out of P20 silvers, though there are a couple of 20h rims on his eBay store.
Good to see that XR22s are back in 28/32 F/R combo, but an interesting find by @Ndeipi ...
Does anyone have a photo of the DCR Flirt silvers?

I've inserted a straight pull spoke, used digital calipers to measure from the inside of the flange to the outer edge of the spoke, and then done a bit of maffs to work out where the centreline of the spoke hole is compared to the centre of the axle. It matched up exactly with what the manufacturer said it was, but I don't like relying on manufacturer's dimensions if I can measure them myself.

Does the freehub have an ABG anti bite guard or similar acronym bit of steel? If so bitex something, if not probably novatec something.
I also think it is disc/no brake track
