I just heard from her, the storm rolled right overhead but she was pretty sheltered. She said it was beautiful.
She was a lot less complimentary about the midges.
Apart from being exhausted she’s carrying on happily. Just found a tap, so she’s replenished all her water storage. -

Can you link to a tracker? Struggling to find it from my phone. We might try and find a rider or two if we can.
Edit: got it... it was the link I was trying but internet too slow.

Ah. You got it.
There’s only Anisa and James Illman still on the road.
Having met both of them on the road in Wales I know how much they appreciate a shout and a chat from someone. -

Anisa is so close now. 30km away. great ride.

This is a good listen w/ Josh / Lewis. Lewis's voice grates me a bit but Josh's insights making it bearable.

The weird American/Aussie accent thing.
1.5x ftw

56000 cals packed onto the bike from the start. woah.
Interesting him saying mentally is was easier in someways - instead of searching for food - when your hungry just get the stove out and have a curry. That resonates. -

Deliveroo to a local park in every town along the way :)
-
• #4186
meeting a different deliveroo driver at 11pm in a strange park for a week.. I am not ready for that kind of endurance.

You haven't lived!

Dean karnzanes used to do that he'd order a huge pizza and a bag of doughnuts and meet the delivery driver at the nearest intersection then roll up the pizza have that in one hand and the bag of doughnuts in the other and eat the whole lot whilst still on the move.

He should pick on people his own size, like Universe Tour pros. :)
Go skinny!
-
• #4193
I’m sure it’s been mentioned before, but what on earth is this race format? Tracker shows riders and segments(?) all over the place?
-
• #4194
Same as TCR, no? Compulsory parcours, free-route between each.
-
• #4195
I’m on my phone so hard to tell but on the replay feature of the tracker it looks like riders teleport from one segment to another, or is that just because roads are so much faster than the off-road segments?
-
• #4196
Yeah, they'd be substantially faster. Camille's routes are supposed to be very difficult. He's not scared of hike-a-bike.
-
• #4197
Not really getting on with this tracker (on my phone at least... skinny and Meier seem to both be stopped at the same hotel.
-
• #4198
They did some kind of tracker blackout overnight according to their Twitter feed.

skinny and Christian Meier are having a bit of a battle at the front. Very close together.
It doesn't look as if they've rested yet. I wonder if skinny's experience there will help him out, although I don't know how many of these Meier has done.

Checking up on social media this morning and there was a curfew in place last night which forbade riding on certain sectors, including the one @skinny has started this morning. He had a good night's rest, as did Christian Meier.
I think this is the latter's second endurance race, he did the Atlas Mountain Race earlier in the year, but didn't finish. He started very fast there, so hopefully has learned from that experience.
Gosh, we’re on holiday in wanlockhead (Scotland’s highest wettest coldest village, and just an hour outside Edinburgh) and saw no evidence of any kind of storm whatsoever. Glorious here apart from the midges.
