I was speaking to our buying agent yesterday. There's nothing to stop you, but a number of things make your offer more attractive. The main thing is being able to proceed. Not having an offer of yours will count against you, but having your place listed and there being enough interested for offers to have been submitted it a positive.
How long has the place you're looking at been on the market? Do you know if the price has changed at all? Have they had other offers/many viewings?
Is there any point making an offer on a house before you accept one on yours?
We have an offer that we are going to decline, no idea if buyer will up there offer to what we want or not.
In the meantime we found a place we really like, in budget.
