Wanstead Flats is on fire again. One fire engine on the scene, smoke and flames in two different areas. Let’s hope it doesn’t get as big as it did two years ago.

Blowjobs in the police station is only misconduct, insist WPC Dicks:

Now... twatter sentiment analysis is something I've seen several people do.
It's just a waste of £ of you ask me in this context. What use is it around coronavirus?

I think this is being blown out of proportion to be honest.

Let's also not forget that the focus ought to be more on Sergeant Reed and not on PC Dicks, who will nonetheless get most of the attention because she is a woman (i.e. sexism will focus on her), because of her surname, and because Reed isn't appearing in this case as he's resigned from the police. From this, I'd deduce that he seems to be the main problem here (also being her superior officer, of course):
Reed is also accused of having sex with an unnamed police community support officer while on duty at Cardiff Central on 29 May 2018.
Then, on 9 October 2018, he is accused of using his phone to covertly take photographs of the feet of a female officer from the force’s professional standards department while she was in his office.
Details of the allegations posted on South Wales police’s website said: “He has since disclosed that he did so because he has a foot fetish.”

I thought it was going to be a tissue if lies but it seems she'll struggle to get that wiped off her record.

The absolute best thing to do while being investigated at work for sexual misconduct is take sneaky photos of the investigator's feet.

Most everything is different in Wales and the police are in the early 80s, with all that that entails.

"are you ok? i can see you're trying to not die by bailing your shitty boat out with a plastic cup - we'd help but... nah - good luck tho lol!"
regardless of whether or not this is what journalists are supposed to do, there's no impartiality when it comes to watching people struggle to survive. the fact that this has been on repeat for today is fucking gross. the outright normalisation of right wing faragery. abysmal.

contrast with the C4NEWS piece on the same topic. Reporter and crew actively helping people with provisions, communication, positioning themselves in such a way so as to protect the refugee boat from dangerous wakes caused by container ships and an unapologetic condemnation of the lack of political will to offer any meaningful assistance to these desperate people.

Disgusting. Plays like a wildlife documentary, where you're supposed to let animals just get on with it and do all those cruel things to each other, rather than intervening. Animals, hmmm... sub-human, etc.
