  • I have a referral link I can send you if you like, which will give us both €5 off the service fees

  • I was going to use this which waives the startup fee and gives half price next year or something.

    Can this be combined?

  • Imagine spending £92k on this.

  • behold this majestic beast: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-911-Targa-1981-SC-Pewter-Metallic-Gold/224097019283?hash=item342d392593:g:cJMAAOSwj-Ze5mkn

    What am I missing?

I thought all air cooleds went for a small fortune nowadays?

  • Bit punchy, but you're paying for the mileage I guess.

With -ive interest rates a possibility it might make sense.

I wonder what else you could buy for £90k as a good investment?

  • It’s a Targa, and it’s an impact bumper. Both of these things make it cheaper.

  • Yeah I saw the mileage but I just can't believe they are that desirable. They made so many that (7,147) you'd see a few a week down at the car cruises being driven by spotty blokes with girlfriends who were way too young.

Kinda feel like it's car pricing madness for the sake of car pricing madness.

  • Noticing uneven amount of wear on my front passenger side tyre and the wheel is creeping to the left - reckon i need to get my wheels aligned.

Will i be ok entreating the services of the local Kwik Fit? How badly can they fuck it up?

  • How badly can they fuck it up?

    Is google broken ;) https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1500641

  • Kwik Fit are shit and expensive in my limited experience! Much better off going somewhere local with a decent reputation if you can.

  • Yeah I'm gonna scout out a few places on my morning hobble. My normal garage can do it but I'd rather avoid having to use public transport to get back and there again.

Could sling a bike in the back I guess...

  • Bit of a bugger yesterday; driving along one of the (country) roads round here I was stuck behind a tractor for awhile. Had a police car behind me but no issues. There's one straight for overtaking and it's really easy to see along so pulled out nice and easy and the whole queue got past the tractor. A couple of minutes later the police pulled me over and told me I crossed the solid white line. Slapped me with 3 points and £100. Worst thing was it was my birthday. I pulled out to overtake on broken white lines then obviously just about touched the solid when I came back in. Has anyone had any joy trying to view video evidence or ask for it to be reviewed without going to court? In the circumstances, ie tractor in the way so couldn't see arrows as easy and only just touching the solid as I came back in on what is a very safe piece of road the points and fine feels ridiculous. I suspect the main reason they pulled me over was because I was driving our golf MK2, if it had been a granny car or something much more luxurious I doubt they would have bothered.

  • In the circumstances, ie tractor in the way so couldn't see arrows as easy

I think they might have issues with this - if you couldn't see clearly you should wait, I'd guess that's what the highway code says.
Does sound like it might be car related though, happened to me loads as a teenager driving my dad's car!

  • I could see clearly, it's a long straight. When I say I couldn't see the arrows as easily it's because it's one thing to see around a big tractor to check nothing is coming but another to check the road surface in the distance

  • If it's just one wheel on one front corner it's likely a suspension issue. Could be a bushing or ball joint. Likely more expensive than just an alignment.

  • Good shout. I'll see if I can't get my regular chap on it.

  • Hope it's not a bank account drainer.

  • ugh - likewise. that said, this car hasn't really cost me a hell of a lot since i've owned it and it's paid for - the only thing i've had to replace was a knackered windscreen wiper housing - so swings and roundabouts etc.

  • I've had a look and there's a box for some kind of code still. So if you send me the code I could try it out. I'm guessing it won't work but it might be worth a punt.

  • Currently in Malta driving a rented Peugeot thing, and there's no rev counter. Is this normal?

  • Is it an auto?

  • Forward to golf club bar,,,,,

  • You'd think so by the lack of working clutch, but no.

  • I assume then it's simply cost cutting. No one actually watches the rev gauge while driving do they, unless they're racing down a 1/4 mile or something or their director is telling them to take it easy because the telemetry is whinging about heat buildup..

  • spotty blokes with girlfriends who were way too young.

The most on point description of a class of drivers ever.
