• Anyone have any of these in SE London?

To be fair the bench vice is probably only any use if I can find the rotor tool....

  • @andyp maybe? or @TTM ?

  • I’ve just sold it, sorry.

EDIT - though mine was for the 3D24, not sure it the same tool?

  • Thanks - I think you're right though, have a feeling 3d24 is a diff axle size and therefore not compatible.

    Bloody things are a pain...

I keep wondering if I can bodge it with a pin spanner (as they seem considerably cheaper) but if the spider is held in with loctite etc I'm guessing it'd be difficult to exert enough force to make it really work

  • You'll need a vice and maybe hot water. They are tight.

  • So I've heard.

Wondering if this is a job best delegated to LBS, if only they actually had space to take it on... I queued for half an hour outside rat race last week and then still got turned away!

  • Yeah, I've had Scherrit and my LBS do mine a couple of times. I've since bought myself a massive bench vice but then haven't done a crank swap for a while.

  • Hmm thanks - yeah maybe I'll try the bike shops again in that case, by the time I've bought a vise and the tool it seems pretty uneconomical
