  • It may be better for that. My girlfriend has one and for cleaning windows it's like a heavy squeegee.

  • Are any of the gadgets for domestic window cleaning worth it? Steam cleaners

I probably wouldn't get one just for windows, but I like having the Polti Vaporetto around for various purposes. It does work on glass, but I don't think it's any better or quicker than Windolene®

  • They all seem to use distilled water with no detergent these days?

  • Distilled or reverse osmosis filtration?

  • They assume they're untouchable in the rest of the country. They resort to violence, theft and very unpleasant behaviour with the locals

  • In the last flat I lived in the UK yes, but that wasn't exactly a deep clean, they literally just hosed water from outside. Proper cleaning (shops windows and home interior and exterior) IME is still old school washing up liquid.

  • Sorry about the late reply. Not bike specific physio. More spine/back for my partner.

  • Ordered a facelift fire blade kit after speaking to a window cleaning kit supplier.

  • I have a nipple problem.
My 6mm barrel nipples are too small for my levers' 7.3mm holes. Are sleeves available, if so where?
    I thank you.

  • Artesian or artisan?

  • Are sleeves available, if so where?

Probably easier to get a new cable

  • It/they are new cables but 6mm diameter nipples, which fit everything else. I've tried finding bigger nipples but you can imagine the search results. Searching that image you posted worked but £19.99 for postage seems a bit steep.

  • £19.99 for postage seems a bit steep.

You obviously found the wrong site, it's under £10 shipped from https://hollandbikeshop.com

  • I just found yet another site £3.99 p&p. Thanks for your help.

  • Looking for a road bike recommendation for a friend. He’s got £1-1.5k.

What’s best in that range? Canyon?

  • Why, when you hit a bump would your bike make a massive clonk sound from the front end?
    Severe mudguard chatter?
    Bottoming out a tubeless?
    Cracking?
    Bashing?
    Snapping?

  • Loose bearing caps on the front axle

  • Hmm. So if you'd taken a bike for a service and a build. And on top of the gears sliding around the cassette....

  • What if the disc(centre lock) wasn't right enough?

  • What are the 650b Campagnolo freehub wheelset options?

I’m looking at a few to try to get a larger tire size, but the majority are Shimano freehub. As an additional question, I have no idea about disc brakes at all. Do the discs all just slot into existing disc brake callipers, or is there something special with them?

  • What happened at the bike shop?

  • I don't know. I took bike with wheels (and cassette/rotors on, tyres fitted (tubeless)) and said "please put this together properly (hydro brakes, new chain, cabling, wrap tape up, tighten and tidy everything)Ta"

I took it for a ride last week and the chain skips all over the block when pedaling, which I thnk can be easily fixed. The chain fell off the front ring (I'm willing to accept a non narrow wide chainring (and may actually be a middle from a triple) might not be up to the esoteric mix of altus rear, deore cassette, unknown chain - so I'm changing that). And then I noticed a lot of rattling and then a "thonk" when I hit two bumps. Not moaning about the shop or mechanics just want to know what to point out.

  • Definitely sounds like a headset. You should be able to test this by holding the front brake on and rocking the bike back and forth. Can you feel any movement?

  • My rear DT Swiss 370 track hub axle is a bit mashed and need to run it through a die, but i'm unsure if its a M10 x 1.25 or M10 x 1.5.

Anyone know what specific die I need?
