  • Does anyone know where I can get a KNOT systembar in either 40 or 42cm from? Looks like the entire internet is out of stock..

  • current crop of paint schemes

They're alright IRL. What's not obvious from the internet is that they asymmetric.

  • In the same boat. No stock anywhere. I'm after a Knot stem 10cm and 40cm save bar. Why do manufacturers always supply huge bars? I'm pretty average 5'10" and 54s always come with 42, 44 bars. We can't be trusted with quicker handling bikes or something?

Nothing in Sigma, overdue delivery apparently.

  • Yep, I saw on Sigma it said they were expecting delivery 'by 6/11/2020' - just the three months away! Will post on here if I see any come up.

  • Maybe this is the moment to put my hoard of bits on eBay

  • Maybe it's just the one bike, being flung around all the stores like the, uh, village bicycle?

  • Hi have a Caad 3 and want to swap the threaded headset out for threadless is the head tube tapered on these or is it an easy enough job ?

  • First ride on new Supersix Evo. The seatpost is creaking like nobodies business... Otherwise, it goes pretty fast!

  • Crabon paste, tighten saddle

  • ^ Tried that as my first port of call. When I slather the post in carbon paste, insert into the frame - most of the paste ends up squeezing out between the gap. I don't have a torque wrench but went tighter than I had it initially. Fingers crossed..

  • Any interest in a size 58 Black Inc Caad1o Disc frameset? Excellent condition, will come with fresh bb30 bearings installed. £265 posted for frame and fork.
Will probably post in classifieds soon but thought I'd gauge interest here first.
Will also have a few things that could be sold with it if required, Hollowgram Si crankset, Spidering, Prime Race wheelset, bars and stem

  • Apparently now is the time to sell you old
Systemsix, bloody loads on eBay right now, which is a shite as I really need to sell mine...#caadsarelikebusses

  • How much did you spend on the bike to not have a torque wrench?

  • “Read the reviews on this frame, they are amazing “

It’s nice that you get some literary criticism in with the price though.

  • Buy a torque wrench. As Croft implies, mad to own bikes in this range and not just spend sixty odd quid on the wrench.

This is just what happens with carbon paste. The way its used on seat posts, most of it squeezes out and it does seem like most of its wasted. But some of the small gritty particles in the paste of course stay between the post and the inside of the seat tube. You don't need to lather it on too thick.

I could also be the cradle bolts creaking rather than the post its self creaking in the frame.
    But get a torque wrench.

  • Fair shout, I do have a torque wrench but its one of those deflective ones that came with a Canyon, probably better to loosen and retorque using that for the minute I guess.

Thanks for the tips, will hopefully get out tomorrow AM - fingers crossed its more silent then

  • Wiggle own brand one is like £20. Absolute no brainer - speaking as someone thats spent ££ on getting snapped stem bolts removed. Not fun, especially on an expensive bike.

Worth noting with the new Supersix seatpost, it says 6NM which is higher than typical carbon posts so you could go a little further tightening than normal.

  • You can get one of those fixed ones for seatposts and stem bolts for £5-ish. So useful.

  • Thanks for the pointers everyone, the post in this Supersix is the alloy one - not sure if that makes a difference to torque numbers.

Also one other thing if anyone knows, this version (105 disc version) comes with speed release thru axle but it doesn't have the quick release style lever on the end of the axle, should it have been supplied with one? I need to use an Allen key to loosen/tighten.

  • Mine didn't come with one either. #sadface

Now I need to carry an Allen key on rides...

  • Much difference between the Save & Knot integrated bars? Knot look like they have a flatter aero section and slightly wider drops.

Can't find the Knot bars in stock anywhere but can find the Save bars. Anyone used both?

    Ta.

  • Where did you spot the save bars?

I think you’ve pretty much nailed it, Knot bars are more aero flat tops, SAVEs are more traditional Light dampening ones.

  • Westbrook have a Knot bar in 44cm:

    Triton have Knot in 38cm:

    Sigma have Save in 36cm & 38cm:

  • This is also a good PDF to get the spec of each bars:
