Shakespear are cool with lots of bikes in the pub too

They actually came to our rescue at the 11th hour after The Alma shut unexpectedly, or rather was bought out by a pubco and forced to sell economy lager and a dry white wine for the little lady, so the landlord shuttered it

Is a van with 102 bhp going to be as miserable as I think it is?
-
• #56381
No.
-
• #56382
It'll be even worse.

When talking about the premium fuels you also have to look at the additives/detergent mixes in with the fuel.
All unleaded petrol grades are the same distilled oil the only difference is the additives/detergents that different vendors add. If you want proof, how many oil distelleries companies are there.
Finally it is in your head, as has been mentioned a few times on this thread.
If you are bored, find a cut up open anti knock sensor to see what it is then look how many cars have them.
Do shell still do the 100 optimax?

Do shell still do the 100 optimax?
Don’t think so, just the V-power stuff with extra detergents.
Did a bit of digging and you can still get ethanol free stuff from Esso. Pretty much all the other premium fuels are E5. Probably a bigger plus than the higher RON number.
-
• #56386
I think Esso supreme was/is the lowest ethanol content available in the UK. A lot of motorbike riders with plastic petrol tanks hunt this out to stop them expanding.
-
• #56387
The engine designer we are working with will hunt out an Esso to fill his 911 turbo up with, highest octane of any UK fuel according to his dyno results.

I have been exchanging emails with MB UK about the rear subframe, I would paraphrase their response as “we don’t care, please fuck off”.

dark. where does that leave you dude? looking for good donor or down some bespoke route?

I’m having a fabricator refurbish mine, so my car will live on. Does mean that the whole W203 C55 range are going to be a lot rarer very shortly - good source of engines and gearboxes for projects though I guess.
Means I won’t buy a Mercedes again unless I’m very sure of parts availability.

Hiatus or as just left at the top of the arc? Or has some merchant banker or investment company bought the name ISO name and playing on the past?

Anyone have experience of Thule Motion XT Sport or went for something else instead?
Looking for something that will take a buggy with a bit of space left over, but not huge. Not full width either as want to retain Thule roof bike rack.

I have the standard Touring. Ran it on my old A4 estate and pretty bulletproof.
Gone SUV now though and yet to fit bars as the sky roof view would be jeopardised! 😎

I've got AA for the UK. Do they do Euro cover? If not, who's a good roadside assist mob to use for EU?
French toll roads: are they all booths or do they require some kind of electronic device or can I register and pay after using them online or something?
-
• #56396
I thought Momentum 99 was the highest, is that just marketing spin?
-
• #56397
AA offer something like 3 days Euro cover free, then you have to pay,it ain't cheap.
You can get a tag for the péage, but easy enough to whack in a card at each booth if you have a passenger
-
• #56398
Ok, so they have booths. I drove over with @Dammit years ago for Giro but can't for the life of me remember how the tolls worked.
I hate AA so I'd rather not give them more money. A workmate used to have his car covered by a German mob that worked out cheaper than using AA in UK but I can't remember what company it was.
-

ADAC.
Not sure if that cover is still available to UK residents, but it's about 70 euros a year I think. I had it a few years but they made it quite difficult to renew so I let it lapse.
-
• #56400
Yeah, that's probably it. I remember it being similar to AA, ie. an acronym with some As in it.
If it's a pain in the arse I'll probably not bother. If the car dies I'll leave the fucking thing and walk.
