How have you found the height?
I went for the lowered suspension / lowered seat. I can flat foot both sides. I’m 174cm with stubby legs.

Double post failz.

Ha. Thanks!
Last pic of the day... might be the most golf club photo I’ve ever snapped.

Have you got the panniers?
Not yet. Will pick up the vario topbox first for commuting duty (when that happens again) then the panniers some time next year.
-

Yeah, you're not far off the upper echelons of the golf club at this point. Banging choices though.
Re panniers. You going official or aftermarket? Looking for a set as well to add to top box. This shit is pricey. -
• #15708
Going with the Vario panniers (official Bmw for the GS, not GSA). They’re not that pretty but you can key match them and they don’t require any brackets.
Still spendy. Probably £1k for the set.

That is some serious dollar indeed. Saying that though, starting to see real wisdom in key matching. That shit is a life saver. What's the capacity and width like?
Trying to find something slimline for the tiger, but reckon i'll have to do some modification as the official stuff makes the bike over a meter wide, which I'm not keen on.
Frankly though, not sure I'm very keen on the bike at all. -

Key matching is the shit. Vario panniers are expandable which is nice:

Sorry to hear that mate. I know the feeling; I bought a Honda NC700 once. Totally shit bike and couldn’t wait to get rid of it.
.... should have bought the tracer... (sorry)
Fancy a ride at some point? Keen to get some of the forum out for a country trundle.

HA! TMF is the shiz. gets straight to the point. How the hell are they expandable?
Don't start! In hindsight I should have had a chat to you about the tracer.
I'll be spending more than I want to to sort out ergonomics and comfort. Also this thing runs HOT. Coming back in through the westway today the fan kicked in exactly 12 times before I got home. I have to yank my right leg way out so my knee doesn't turn into bacon. It's fucked me off somewhat.
I'll see this week what I want to do with it and give you a shout about the ride! London fixed gear and motorbikes -

How the hell are they expandable? What sorcery is this?
Yeah, some kind of bar that turns and makes them twice the width / height. Magic (expensive magic).
-
• #15713
Ok. Just did a little digging. That's some proper 'OHHHHH SHIT' moment wondering why not everyone does it. Clever, very clever. Almost to the point where they'd be no reason ever riding without them.
You hitting up any serious miles on it soon?

You hitting up any serious miles on it soon?
Not likely with a 2 week old baby. I was lucky to get the miles in today... 😅

Hoooo daaaamn! Congratulations man! I suppose today was a wee escape for you then? raise a drink to you and hope for further relaxing rides for you in the future.
-
• #15716
Yeah. Wife spent the day with her parents so I went for a ride then joined them later. Healthy to spend some time apart since we’ve been stuck in lockdown etc since March.

• #15717
Yay. I did 250 miles of the most awesome empty roads. One of the best rides for ages. Yoo-hoo speed for some of it. Love my new old bike.

Mine’s a GSXR1000 k5. I’m in LA, the cow was somewhere up above the Ojai valley, north east of the city. So many good roads yesterday but the 33 highway, north to south was just superb.
Creaking a bit this morning...

There are some real fuckwits on the road. Usually worse in the summer.
Correct. Took an hour to put them on this morning.
@Chak leaving it at these for now. Adding a headlight protector too as they’re a £1k replacement cost if you get a stone chip.
