Colnago Super Piu // Athena 11

I can't believe it's finished! After having the bare frameset hanging on my bedroom wall for a long time, after having started to put bits on it, having changed the concept, abandoned, restarted again etc etc, here it is, complete and ready to ride.

Seems unbelievable to me now but I originally bought it as a parts bike or to be precised bought it and swapped the frameset to something my size (that's how my Concorde I ride every day was born), then of course realised the Colnago frame was too beautiful to be resold...

I'm sure you can see most of that yourself but the specs are:

• Colnago Super Piu frameset size 54x53.5 (Tange tubing - not Columbus!)
  
• Mavic Aksium Race wheels
  
• Tange headset - to go with the tube maker
  
• Centaur bottom bracket
  
• Nitto bars and stem - can't recall the numbers right now, b15a or something? The smallest sizes of them I could find
  
• Fizik saddle and bar tape
  
• Time atac pedals
  
• Continental GP 4000s tyres
  
  

The rest is a combination of old and new campag Athena groupsets in a mix of black and silver:

New:

• shifter/levers (black)
  
• front derailleuer (silver)
  
• rear derailleuer (black and silver)
  
• sceleton brakes (silver)
  
  

Old:

• Crankarms and chain rings
  
• Aero seatpost
  
  

The chain and cassette is Chorus...

Nice frame and bits, the bars needs leveling.

That a really good looking bike, nice build. It deserves a nicer bartape though, that fizik stuff is a total rip off. Tried is once or twice and it just looks off, like 'a edgar suit'. No matter how good your wrapping skills are. I say a white plasticy tape('bike ribbon', from ambrosio I believe?), that's easy to keep clean.

Heh, let's see how it holds up... it feels nice and soft at first contact actually, but if it needs to be changed it's not the end of the world.
