  • Apologies

Yeah, I preferred the San Quentin, but I'm certain your nephew and friends think it's cool.

  • Tubeless plugs, who recommends what?

    Anything I should avoid?

  • Dammit's semi working Raceface Dropper post

How semi is it? I came to the conclusion that it just didn't like the cold, as the brand new one I replaced it with did exactly the same thing (when sub-zero), but has worked perfectly since it warmed up.

  • Decathlon ones work, topeak do a nice little kit if your looking for something more refined. Make sure you've got something to trim them with.

  • I've got a couple of Dynaplugs. One Racer and one Micropill. I've never had to use either, but they've provided me with a great sense of security, so as far as I'm concerned they've both worked most excellently.

  • Yeah, had a frustrating 10 miles home the other day with an untrimmed worm pinging against my stays.

  • Still not returning to the top in warm weather.
I haven’t spoken to him since but he did take it to a bike shop the other day for hoses to be shortened and apparently they put more air in it and now it works better. So maybe that combined with some oiling will have it working fine until it’s serviced.
Takes a massive 250psi which is pretty bonkers. My shock pump won’t go that high

  • I think I’m going to leave my mtb in Shropshire. I don’t use it enough in London to warrant the space it takes up being occupied.
I can maybe just borrow my work’s Cannondale Habit when people are doing a group ride and I get invited...

  • You have a work mountain bike? LBS employee..?!

  • There was an Open UP too but someone cracked it :)

  • I'm hoping to be in Epping on Sunday and maybe Swinley the next day. Hopefully not too scorchio

Saying that, don't think I'll be allowed in Swinley without a lid?
Don't mind using the road helmet on my cross bike, not doing that on the mtb

  • Anyone got any recommendations for a lightweight full face? Everyone I know has Fox Proframe, anything else to consider?

  • My payment finger just slipped...

  • Did somebody say something? No?

  • Yeah, that doesn't look particularly fun around corners, depending on your idea of fun

  • anything else to consider?

    The shape of your skull.

My GF has a proframe she bought the day before Gowaan Fest. It was discounted but still twice what she'd budgeted, but no full-face no ride and the ProFrame fit better than the other ones she tried on.

  • Obviously it needs to fit but its unlikely anywhere is going to let me try one on at the moment isn't it? Am I likely to be able to return a helmet if I order online and it doesn't fit? I only need one because I'm possibly going to Dyfi in the next few weeks and thats the same no full-face no ride policy.

  • What other helmets do you use? If

  • I’ve got a Proframe that I find very comfortable and fits well.

I also use Kask Mojito and Rex helmets

  • Normally a Grio Chronicle for mtb and a selection of Lazer helmets for road, did consider a Giro switchblade but having a removable chinbar that I would never remove seems pointless

  • Some places don't accept helmets like the Switchblade as fullface, so they're of limited use.

  • Am I likely to be able to return a helmet if I order online and it doesn't fit?

I don't see anything specific to helmets or COVID on Wiggle's pages, but it's worth checking the terms for wherever you find the helmet. https://www.wiggle.co.uk/h/option/returns-uk

Keep the tags on and wear it around the house for a few hours to make sure it's not too snug anywhere that might give you a headache after a while.

afaik COVID survives on dry surfaces for 3-7 days (depends what the surface is), so if you're asymptomatic and return the helmet, by the time it gets back to the shop the risk of transmission should be minimal.

  • I love my Spesh Dissident Carbon. Is very light, is not very cheap. I do however wear it comfortably in rougher Enduro races with big transfers where otherwise I might be tempted to wear an open face and smash my teeth in
