Given the professionals just use Fairy liquid with scrubber / squeegee, I'd stick to that. Just buy good ones.

In the last flat I lived in the UK yes, but that wasn't exactly a deep clean, they literally just hosed water from outside. Proper cleaning (shops windows and home interior and exterior) IME is still old school washing up liquid.
