Same thing in the US - every red state is paid for by tax revenue generated by (largely) New York and California. Every Republican Governor is a welfare queen, as is ever single one of their voters.
UK provincial Brexists really don't like it when you point out that Londonistan (as they inevitably call it) pays for them.
