  • You know my feelings on Laminate, Amey. There are few things more cruel to inflict on a period house. Pebbledash maybe? I am not sure.

Also have spent the last ten years with Ikea kitchen. My fucking cats revelled in pulling off the plinth guards every fucking morning because ghosts. I know there is better out there. I know it!

  • speaking as the owner of an 1876 end of terrace where the previous owner not only removed every single fireplace and period feature, replaced everything with shitty UPVC (not even sympathetic) windows and doors and polystyrene ceiling tiles, completely fucked up the DPC by slathering concrete on everything in the back garden, put in the world's worst kitchen, but also merrily re-wired without a hint of legality or safety (don't get me started on the gas either) and slapped layer after layer after layer of paint on (she was there for 41 years).... please for the love of god don't rip out all the period features. there are other houses.

oh, and we have a mix of pebbledash and flat render on the front. it looks disgusting. i know this area was bombed so i'm assuming there's a jumble of brick and breezeblock underneath, so my only hope is now to paint over it.

(i don't know how baller you're going with kitchens also but i love my Wren kitchen and because i basically extreme coupon'd myself with sale + discount + special offer the entire thing - plus all new white goods - cost me £8k and they are the best tradespeople i've ever had. would recommend)

  • This person sounds like the final level boss after you’ve been fighting pixelated @amey throughout the game.

  • please for the love of god don't rip out all the period features. there are other houses.

    Yeah I wouldn’t do that I’m not a monster

Place I was looking at has been mostly vandalised anyway.

  • polystyrene ceiling tiles,

Also what were these all about? I remember melting them with a soldering iron on the sloping of ceiling of my parents converted bungalow when I was eight.
