Steel and concrete don’t tend to move as much as humans, who are softer, too. Spectators take their chances being there knowing what can happen. I know what I’d rather crash into at 60kph.

Is a railway line better or worse than a load of spectators who would ordinarily be there. The scandal, frankly, is the UCI not banning riders who deviate so much for longer and sending a strong message. I’m sure Groenewegen has previous for this but I can’t recall exactly when to look it up.
