There are different versions...The Aeropack one with the built in bag was tested by Cass Gilbert and he was really impressed by it, enough to use it on several long trips. Seemed popular in the comments section too.

what about a nitto R14 and a drybag or something on top rather than the tailfin, it's a good size but lightweight rack.
i did most of the rhine route with an r14 and a MYOG roll top bag on the top

I found this dry bag on alpkit which has 2 sets of loop holes on each side, so I used a utility strap to go through those and then through a strap on the saddlebag.
Thoughts?
So packed in the back I now have managed to get:
- Tent
- Sleepingbag
- Inflatable sleeping mat
- Stove
- Titanium mug
- Underwear,tee,shorts
- Insulated jacket
Think I should be able to fit everything else in the frame bag and bar bag set up I had before.

Feels good, wish there was more handspace but otherwise, fully loaded seems fine. Small trip next week.

I'm getting a tailfin to try, we will see.
Also lol at the person lamenting all.advixe being for ravers, then suggesting a packable backpack. Racers been doing that for years!

Anybody got a hot tip on some packable trainers/shoes? Not necessarily for trips, but I'm riding longer distances for social stuff where I'd like to not be in "proper" SPD shoes all the time, and my Giro Rumbles don't cut it for 12 hours in the saddle. Also looking to avoid deploying any more luggage than my frame bag

Pair of canvas trainers? They’d strap to the outside and in a plastic bag wouldn’t get wet. You wouldn’t want to walk miles in them but they’d be better than cleats. Got mine from Sainsbury’s for around a tenner. Didn’t matter if they got wrecked or fell off at that price.
