Try again...
I'm interested in the rack. I've got a Caadx with discs... Do you think the rack is wide enough to fit to slightly wider frame?
I'm in SE20.. So just around the corner. Ta! -

Hi, I’d say yes, but only one surefire way to find out!

Oh if it’s not clear, the rack bolts on to the seatpost. Comes with a shin so should fit most diameters. Here’s a pic of someone else’s setup...

Hi Buda .Thanks for pic..one last question...have you ever used ortlieb panniers on the rack?
-
• #14
Hi,
thanks. How much posted to Belgium?
Wim

• #15
Hi - no, and I'm not too sure it would be a good idea. The rack is meant for light loads and the Topeak bag system. Saying that, you could cable tie it to the seat stays for stability and then the Ortlieb might fit/stay in place... but don't take my word for it.

Hi Wim - cheapest Royal Mail, i.e. small parcel under 2kg, is around a tenner.. so £30 all in..

simplest thing to do is to try... are you around today/tonight? happy to cycle up the hill and meet at CP Park station?

Hi Buda, just reading that the Ortlieb racks dont fit so well. Also Id need more weight than is recommended for that rack.
All yours gears.. -

Thanks hamnjam - and I concur, Ortlieb panniers and this beam rack are not a great partnership
@gearsforfears you're up..

Thanks Buda. hamnjam has done their homework and unfortunately, I've got some Ortlieb panniers so may have to pass on this also.
Sorry buddy

Cheers Gears, no problem at all.

• #22
Thanks but I'll pass on this one. Think I better look for something here in Belgium.

yep Wim, you can probably buy it locally, and new, for roughly the same price. Best of luck!
