lovely bunch of bikes in this thread!
Before checking the wheel build over, I think a good look at seating of the front tyre would be in order as the schwalbe logo seems half eaten by the rim

You know what, you might be right and it could be sitting in the groove of the mavic tubeless rims.
Total bastard of rims to get tyres in!

all look good. I'm a fan of dialled bikes too as i used to work with Mike in a large corporate and he lived around the corner from me.
I sold a Prince Albert 520 frame during lockdown and built up my 725 Prince Albert (see below) and will be riding it on some simple gravel type MTB tomorrow.
you know Mike is still going as FTB bikes and focusing on BMX? He may even have some old stock dialled frames hanging around too

It's such a fun bike, only reason I'm selling it is because of the yeti tbh and trying to clear my feet. If I sell both I've still got the same amount of bikes nearly 😂🙄

I have a 98 Kona King Kikapu in a shed outside my house. It's been waiting for a rebuild for about 9 years now. Just can't get around to it.

Nice I wanted another kona from when I sold the frame years ago and it was too cheap to turn down.
Things have massively changed though now with regards to bikes but it'll be a bit of fun! Looking for a set of Fox 36's to put up front and need to get brakes too -

Is that a ducking ruckus? You have a ruckus!!
@Señor_Bear get on with it! If you can’t be arsed, just tell me what you want want on it and I’ll build it for you!

Its a UK model which is a Zoomer only diffenece is they were Fuel injected and not carbed like the ruckus not rode that one yet since my last one was wrote off Thought.

Oh yes!! This era of Kona were such good bikes! I had a Coiler and it was honestly the best. I'd actually consider building one as an affordable park bike and having a shorter travel all round bike next time!

Yeah it should be a fun all day bike for riding XC, Enduro fucking about with my pals up the woods.

Saint shifter and mech turned out to be 9 speed Even though my bike mechanic told me ages ago it was 10 speed. So had to order a 10 speed mech and shifter oh and the fork steerer tube is too small by like 10mm so I need to get another fork.

Cant believe I've never seen this thread before. Blew my mind seeing the lahar!
Lookong foward to seeing the Stab built up with single crown forks. Could potentially get it to a reasonable weight if went for one of the lighter air sprung 36's. Wont be to hard to to find an air shock too.
Since mullet bikes are all the rage just now you could even go with a 650b fork and front wheel?! 😂

The Lahar will have a 650b front and 26" rear unless I make a new rear end for it and make it 650b F&R, its a project that I started buying bits for that then I got side tracked with other stuff.
Kona Stab has been relegated to the loft for the time being as I have the Turner now, but I am looking for a set of forks either a fox 36's or Zoochi 55's.

unless I make a new rear end for it
That would be pretty rad. As if it's not rare enough but it would surely become one of a kind at that point.
Do you have the skills/knowledge/tools to produce a new rear end yourself? Would be great to see that process documented here. Fabricating a new rear end gets my vote.I bought a dh bike a couple of years ago from a world cup race team and have slowly been pimping it up. Its pretty much done now.
Had thought about making a CP thread for it but didnt think there would be much interest here in a modern dh bike build but seems I was wrong.Love the Turner. When I was young I always lusted after the dhr frame.

If I do make a new rear end for it, it'll be steel or Alu and not Carbon, the rear end on it had like flex so you pull it into shape on the mount.
I've never made anything carbon before although I have thought about trying to make a Lahar style bike as the guy who made them wasn't big budget and it was all done very cheap so I'm guessing it's possible with the right know how!
Yeah the Turner is nice, although haven't rode it yet, seemed like a practically bike to get as most stuff is XC/enduro now and downhill ain't what it was in term of popularity!

Not much as happened recently, still waiting on my BMW forks coming back and my mechanic to build my front disc wheel for it. Hopefully this week coming I can get there Brooklyn up and running this week or next!
Finally got a set of sweet new forks for the Kona. Some Fox 36 with the kashima coating, sound be a really nice winter build I think!

Got @PhilDAS to weld on a disc mount for my forks so excited to get them back, only hold up is my mechanic can't build my wheel till next month but luckily I'm going to visit a friend in Fort William next month who's a dab had at mechanic so he's gonna show me how!
Just waiting on getting paid off another job so I can buy a compressor setup to paint the frame and do it in something a bit fancy although someone has probably already done it before me.

4 months later after getting my fork back from Phil, I managed to get my wheel built and finally got a new snazzy set of cranks and chain ring too for it.

Yes yes but what about the Lahar!?!
Nah stock still, have a set of CRF50 pro tapers or renthal bmx bars depending what feels best to fit on it but have order them tree for it from America yet.
