I have my wife’s SuperV Raven which has spent the last few years in a cellar then a shed. We’d like to get it into a rideable state but I’m aware that the head shock might be tricky to work with. Anyone got experience of these bikes and have any advice on working on them. Or can recommend any London/Essex based bike shops that would know how to look after this properly. Any help or advice appreciated!

Biggest issue with those is the rear shock - if dead it cannot be replaced with a modern equivalent.
Headshok can be replaced with Lefty if it’s toast.
Those frames had a recall fix / bodge to stop the BB shell and the rest of the frame parting company. Worth remembering if you are planning on doing any off road with it.
Awesome visually though. I thought. Looks hardly used for a 20 year old bike.
Does it have the Risse shock? They might still be around to look at it whereas Fox won’t entertain the idea on the original oem.

Why's that then? Weirdly short?

The missus' CAAD 13. Photo is a few months old, but still current (though now missing a few spacers)

Think that's the first 13 I've seen on here. Not the easiest base to make look nice but that looks really good IMO.
Been keeping an eye out on framesets dropping in price but it looks more like they're all selling out.

Thanks man - I forwarded your compliment, she's over the moon. We were looking for a rim brake bike to complement the disc gravel bike. Between the brands offered by our LBS, this one seemed like a solid choice. Missus did a little over 3.500km on it since taking delivery in late March, so I guess the choice was right.

@Howard your knowledge and memory of cannondale always impresses me!
I'm also keen to know why the shock cant be replaced with a new one?
Thats defo a Risse shock on the bike. Pretty uncommon to see Risse shocks anywhere these day. Usually spotted on vintage dh bikes. Not sure of they are still producing anything.
I remember seeing 12" travel Risse forks on Josh Benders bike in an issue of mbuk circa 2000

Uses a really weird eye to eye and stroke that hasn’t been tried since. Nobody makes a shock with those dimensions.

If I were to, theoretically, put my 56cm disc (QR version with flat mount rear, post front) caad12 up for sale, would anyone be interested? What's the going rate? It's good condition bar a slight knock to the top tube from bars swinging round.
I also have some c zero disc wheels to sell with it/separately.
Steerer has been chopped but room for any stem and at least 5mm spacer on top depending on stem height. Also includes fancy carbon seatpost.

I'd be keen, although I would prefer the later TA/Flat/Flat version. So you'd be selling F+F, post and BB?

It's a wheels mfg bb30a to GXP adapter in there at the moment, which I can leave in if required. I'll try and find out what I paid for the whole thing.
Right, looks like I paid £300 for Frameset, post and headset bung, £350 for the wheels (was p/X so hard to work out exactly what).

I could maybe be interested the frameset pending all the relevant info

Cool. It's as described really, prang is shown below. Looks worse in the picture. I've no concerns about it!
Probably looking for £300 posted. I can sell the red Etap post mount caliper with it if need be.

I much prefer the new SuperSix TBH. Evolution happens for a reason. I don't really see the point in resisting it so strongly like most in here do.
Those OG Rapha/EF SuperSix’s are super rare tho (think they were team issue only?), and they seem to have most sizes available. Thought someone might snap one up.

Alright cool, I’ll have a think about it.
Think I bought Dammit’s custom painted one for 300 and sold it for 240 a couple years ago now -

Ok cool.

I feel like every large bike shop has one. Like they were sold as POS.

Well, I guess their current crop of paint schemes presents you with a commercial opportunity.

No idea TBH - Have never seen one in the flesh without an EF rider sat on top, so only basing my assumption on that.
I don’t think I’ve been in to a bike retailer of any sort for at least 18 months though to be fair!
premium looks right with that era caad
