I'm considering a Mercury as a flat bar bike to replace my (mildly crashed) Surly which I've decided not to ride anymore.
If I go this route, I think i'll be opting for front v brake, rear disc. Any merit in looking at hydraulic disc for rear?
No. The majority of the braking will be done by the front brake, if yo doin it right.
