Sounds like when my dear departed mother tried to learn to drive. It quickly became apparent that three pedals was too many, so my father bought her an auto. Turned out there was still plenty of scope for confusion. The auto Renault 5 was a total shitbag of a car, but thank fuck the handbrake worked well.
Any chance someone from here would be interested in swapping my CLK350 convertible (ULEZ compliant, fresh service and MOT) for your 5dr petrol automatic...?
I've made a half arsed attempt to sell for a while but having being stung in the past buying used I've been putting it off, my last car before this one was a VW touran had the engine mount break and the sump drop out the bottom on a trip to IKEA in Portsmouth, got me out of having to go round IKEA tho.
Missus is learning to drive and she almost smashed straight into a parked car the other day, she also ran over one of those children shaped please watch your driving signs, I had to jump out and bend it back into shape, I really am not a good teacher I now know. Don't worry we now have booked more lessons and plan on sticking to the car parks in the future.
Looking for something smaller like a Honda Jazz... good for a learner, automatic, petrol...?
