I think there would need to be a constitutional amendment to delay the election to a point where Trump started a fifth year as president during the same term.

That's certainly my understanding.

Which ain't going to happen.

I'm inclined to agree. He's just talking whatever bollocks comes into his head, as usual.

Constitutional amendments require ratification by 2/3 of the states' legislatures. (34 out of 50).

There's a reason there haven't been that many amendments.
