  • Where did you get the braze ons done?
Hopefully somewhere in the 9000 area?

  • No, not really near Ghent: at Donadi in Steenokkerzeel. The guy used to build frames at Eddy Merckx.

  • Update on a side-project: the MC Pro mountainbike I bought (to have an example for the respray of my PR6000 - see page 1 of this project), turned out to be a 1991 model and not 1992. This means I have both the top of the range road bike and mountainbike of that year. After I found that out, I decided to restore the MC Pro (as close as possible) to catalog spec with a 7 speed XT groupset and Ritchey parts.

  • So jealous of that mtb

  • Thanks. It really is a fantastic bike. In fact I need one that's a tad larger but it will probably stay a wallhanger so I don't mind.

  • Wonderful job Wim.

  • Thanks guys. Now all I need is a Panasonic Team track bike. ;-) @Tijs ?

  • @TM has first dibs, if I ever lose my marbles. ;)

  • I live in hope... ;)

  • This was just a few years ago at the nationals elite madison

    Edit: Dutch nationals obvs, 2017

  • They look like Cees Bol and Julius van den Berg, who came in 4th that day. And that Panasonic appears to be your size, so I suggest you contact them ;)

  • That looks more like a 59 to me. They're Dutch, so they're at least 5 cm taller than us, Belgians. ;)

  • Next step taken today: took the MC Pro to a lettering company that will make reproductions of the decals.

  • Looks like Julius van den Berg, who is 1,89, so must be a 59 indeed. For a Belgium you have a sharp eye lol

  • Thrilled... Just got a sample from the graphic designer who's helping me out on the decals.

  • Found one of these in good nick (and rare 26.8 mm diameter) for a decent price on German Ebay.

  • Got some post from Japan today: an original Panasonic seatpost bolt.

  • It's coming together @WimVDD

  • It is, @SideshowBob. It is...

Next week I'm taking everything to Frank Hoste (respray).

  • Short pre-2021 update. My road frame is still waiting for a respray. New objective: have it finished by March 1st. Why this date? March first is, here in Belgium, the start of the road season. On March first 2021 it will be 30 years since this PR 6000 first came in action on Belgian roads. Other reason: 1991 was the year I started cycling and I want to have all my 1991 bikes finished so they can celebrate their 30 th anniversary together. 😊

Did some Panasonic work after all: changed some items on my mountainbike(rear mech, bars,...) to make it a bit more era correct.
