Clicked on the estate agent link to see more photos and initially thought that they gave the house a good clean, lick of paint and staged it.
https://www.balgoresproperty.co.uk/properties/12986195/sales
To then realise that the estate agent has "virtually" staged the house.
I actually never see that before, is that even legal??They did mention it right at the end of the listing but that's misleading in my opinion.
Kudos to the person who did the photoshop, it is impeccable work!

Shady practice that. Beautiful house tho. I grew up Welwyn Garden City. Hated it (natch) but there are beautiful 20’s Art Deco buildings there.

The island is just two Magnet units back to back. Got rid of one, new worktops and strengthened the new “bar” with a ply back and footrest made from worktop off-cuts. Quite pleased with the result. Danish oiled ALL THE THINGS
Getting the units wrapped in matt white vinyl soon and putting new handles on. Looking forward to getting rid of the 40-fags-a-day colour of the units now.

Bought the stools a year or so back in anticipation of eventually getting round to doing this. Had to dismantle them and cut 6cm off the top of the legs then re-drill and bolt back togther. Still think they might me a touch high tbh.

BBC How They Dug The Victoria Line was simply marvellous. Thank you for the tip-off!

I have an oddly large bathroom (well, not really, it was a bedroom when the house was built) but it currently feels a bit of an extravagant use of space and I'm looking to divide it up when I re do it, only problem is it isn't easy (to me at least).
This is what I am working with, none of the fittings are being moved from current layout (but open to it).
The smaller area is approx 2.4m x 1.4m but also has to be a corridor. I imagine it being a bit of an extra utility area or possibly a reading nook/office, but one major issue is there would be no windows (transoms across the top of the dividing wall may sort that?).
Anyone seen anything similar done and done well? Anyone got some space utilisation smarts?

In the same situation and we have considered moving the washing machine and tumble dryer out of the kitchen and upstairs into a utility cupboard area. However that would also mean moving the boiler which is a bit of a pain. Would be good to get them out of the kitchen though.

Aye, I imagine lots of folks are in the same situation... one of our neighbours cared a guest toilet out of their bathroom but that would give use more bathrooms than bedrooms which is a bit daft. We hate washing machines in kitchens and moved ours to a utility room under our stairs in the middle room.

Love the look of that place... almost a dream house.
Anyone know the specific style of tiles used in the kitchen? -

Looks like smooth terracotta floor tiles with very little grout - hit google images and you'll see some other examples

Quarry tiles?

Any update on this ?

I'm looking for a pedestal fan to go in our dinning room / Covid office. Any recommendations?
Wish list:
- nice looking / elegant - think standard mid-century pintrest; dark greens, brass, g-plan
- not too pricey (>£50)
- quiet*
Cheers.
*obviously not expecting Dyson levels of silence, but our floor standing fan is a fucking monster.
I also appreciate that quiet fans are generally modern looking things.

Do you want floor standing still or no?

^ Cheers.
Do you mean floor standing vs table top vs ceiling?
Or rotating vs static?
Basically I want a nice version of this:

There's a couple in that link, though I don't think any have an automatic sweep.

Cheers. The more I think about it, the more I think a modern discrete tower would be better.
We had a nice one in our old apartment that was pretty practical and was enough to save you running the AC at night.
EDIT: actually looking at these things and how little needs to be done to improve the looks I'm wondering about modifying one.

We did this, end of last year installed new heating. Removed a combi from the kitchen and another that was on the 1st floor landing. That landing cupboard now has the washing machine and tumble dryer. Already had a water feed so just the waste to be fitted. New boiler went into the basement, kitchen is free of washing machine, tumble and boilers...

4yr dredge
Recently got a few sets of these table legs, in green.
Thinking dining table and office desk so far... presume it's fairly easy to find places that'll do a finished worktop in whatever flavour I like...
shame about the neighborhood
