• Definitely this ^^^. I had a fairly innocuous slow speed tumble on a hairpin in Mallorca - early morning, heavy dew on the road, and Vittoria Kevlar/SiO2 Compound of Death tyres. Despite not really being hurt in the fall, it properly shook me up, and for about a year after that Cycliste would kick my arse on tight hairpiny descents, despite my status as a Naturally Gifted Descender. I got over it eventually, although I'm still a bit tenative on wet hairpins. Which is probably not such a bad thing.

  • Take it slow man. Similar situation here. Still apprehensive about lose corners, traffic, descending, everything. But what's the rush? I can go full gas uphill, right?

  • Still good advice! Mind you, full gas uphill for me is not, at the moment, particularly fulsome. My power to weight ratio has been adversely affected by both metrics going in the wrong direction...
